Roger Federer Early Favorite to Win U.S. Open

Aug. 22 -- Roger Federer is the heavy favorite to win the The U.S. Open tennis tournament, men's division. Online sportsbook, Bodog, has released odds on the top 11 candidates to win the event, and Roger Federer has 5:4 odds.

The U.S. Open starts on Aug. 31, and the finals will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13. Qualifying for the tournament will start on Aug. 25.

Rafael Nadal just returned from knee surgery and ten weeks of rest, but already he has the second best odds to win the tournament at 4:1 odds. Andy Roddick is a 12:1 favorite, and will have the home crowd on his side. Andy Murray is also given good odds to win the tournament, at 10:3.
