Pat Rafter Wins ATP Champions Tour Event

Dec. 7 -- Pat Rafter won the ATP Champions Tour event in London in a nostalgic serve-and-volley showdown with Stefan Edberg.

The Australian triumphed 6-7(7-5) 6-4 11-9 (Champions Tie-Break) in a Sunday final that reminded the Royal Albert Hall crowd how tennis used to be played in the 1980s and 1990s.

Edberg was the form player going into the decider, with round-robin victories over Younes El Aynaoui, Mark Philippoussis and Greg Rusedski, while Rafter had beaten Cedric Pioline but lost to Pat Cash and benefited from the retirement of Goran Ivanisevic while trailing 3-5 in the first set on Saturday.

After dropping the first set, 36-year-old Rafter went up a gear in the second, breaking the 43-year-old Edberg to take the match into a Champions Tie-Break.

Rafter, the 1997 and 1998 US Open champion, struck the decisive blow when he hit a running backhand down the line past the incoming Edberg to take the mini-break and a 10-9 lead before serving it out.

Roger Federer DVDs carries complete match DVDs, such as his historic win in the 2009 Wimbledon tournament, in which he broke the record for most Grand Slam victories, or his classic win over Rafael Nadal in 2007, as well as many other major title wins.
