Tennis Match Played on 431 Km/h High Speed Train
Oct. 14 -- Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Fernando Verdasco played an exhibition tennis match while hurtling around Shanghai, China in one of the world's fastest commercial high-speed trains.
Touted as the "fastest tennis in the world," seventh-ranked Tsonga of France took on ninth-ranked Spaniard Verdasco on a mini-tennis court laid down in one of Shanghai's high-speed Maglev trains as it reached a cruising speed of 431 km/h during the seven-minutes and 20-seconds it took to make the trip from Longyard Rail Road station in Pudong to Pudong International Airport.
At the Shanghai Masters, Verdasco and Tsonga are vying to qualify for a berth at the year-end ATP World Tour Finals starting Nov. 22 in London.
Tsonga, who helped his cause last week when he won the Japan Open, is sitting in 10th place on the list. Verdasco, who reached the Australian Open semifinals in January, is currently in seventh place on the list of potential candidates to take the final three spots in the exclusive eight-man tournament.
Other possible candidates to secure one of the three remaining spots are Andy Roddick, Nikolay Davyenko, Gilles Simon and Robin Soderling.
Roger Federer DVDs carries complete match DVDs, such as his historic win in the 2009 Wimbledon tournament, in which he broke the record for most Grand Slam victories, or his classic win over Rafael Nadal in 2007, as well as many other major titles.
