Federer Fined for Use of Profanity

Sept. 17 -- Roger Federer has been fined $1,500 for using profanity while arguing with the chair umpire during the U.S. Open final. A CBS microphone picked up the exchange during its live broadcast of the men's single's final match between himself and Juan Martín del Potro.

Canadian doubles player Daniel Nestor was docked $5,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct toward a fan.

Tournament spokesman Chris Widmaier said that Federer is being docked the same amount as two other players -- Vera Zvonareva and Daniel Koellerer -- for audible obscenities.

A total of $31,500 in fines is being collected by the tournament, topped by Serena Williams' $10,000 levy for unsportsmanlike conduct. She also was fined $500 for racket abuse.

Roger Federer DVDs carries complete match DVDs, such as his historic win in the 2009 Wimbledon tournament, in which he broke the record for most Grand Slam victories, or his classic win over Rafael Nadal in 2007, as well as many other major titles.
