Federer Reaches 23rd Consecutive GS Quarter Finals
Jan. 25 -- Top ranked Roger Federer defeated Lleyton Hewitt 6-2 6-3 6-4 at the Australian Open. The win sends Federer to his 23rd consecutive Grand Slam quarter final. Federer has come out on top 15 times.
Federer goes on to face Nikolay Davydenko, who has beaten Federer in their past two meetings. The last time they faced each other, Davydenko won 6-4, 6-4 in one hour 20 minutes at the Qatar Open.
The other 6 spots in The Australian Open quarter finals are filled by Novak Djokovic, who will be playing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Andy Roddick, who will be playing Marin Cilic, and Andy Murray, who will be playing Rafael Nadal.
