Robin Soldering to Compete in India's Chennai Open

Oct. 27 -- Robin Soldering of Sweden, ranked #10 in the world, has confirmed participation in the ATP World Tour tennis tournament, 'Aircel Chennai Open 2010', to be held in Chennai, India from Jan. 4 - 10, 2010.

Career-wise, Soldering has progressed from ranking in the top 50 in 2007 to 20 in 2008. The current year has been fruitful as he surprised Nadal in the French Open in the fourth round en route to his first ever Grand Slam final against Roger Federer.

In the noted tournament, he defeated three top 15 ranked opponents -- David Ferrer (14), Nikolay Davydenko (11) in the quarterfinals and Fernando Gonzalex (12) in the semifinals before losing Federer.

His run in the French Open helped Soderling gain 1200 points and two solid performances in China, pushed up his ranking to ten. The 25-year-old has won four ATP Tour Titles in his career and has been a finalist on seven occasions.
