Monfils Advances in Brisbane International

Jan. 6 -- Frenchman Gael Monfils defeat big-serving American Taylor Dent 7-6 (1), 6-7 (5), 6-2 in a thrilling first round night clash.

The match which lasted for two hours and 13 minutes saw the athleticism of both players tested. The world No.13 eventually outclassed the American in a tough battle which saw only one break of serve in the fifth game of the deciding set.
