Australian Open Wildcards Announced
Dec. 28 -- Australian Open organizers announced three mens and two womens wildcards on Dec. 24.
Davis Cup player Carsten Ball, two-time junior grand slam winner Bernard Tomic and national under 18 champion Jason Kubler from Queensland have all been given main draw berths.
Kubler led Australia to the Junior Davis Cup title this year and went on a winning streak of more than 30 matches including the prestigious Osaka junior title.
In total, eight wildcards are given for each of the men and womens field. As the Grand Slam of Asia Pacific, organizers award one to Asia. One each is also given to the United States and France under a reciprocal agreement with their respective Grand Slams.
Nick Lindahl and Casey Dellacqua each earned one courtesy of their respective victories in the Play-off at Melbourne Park on the weekend and organisers have already announced former world number one Justine Henin will get a wildcard.
Roger Federer DVDs carries complete match DVDs, such as his historic win in the 2009 Wimbledon tournament, in which he broke the record for most Grand Slam victories, or his classic win over Rafael Nadal in 2007, as well as many other major title wins.
